The holiday season between Thanksgiving and New Year's is often thought of as a celebratory period to spend time with friends and family. That is not always the case, though, as the period is not immune from experiencing the same types of violent crimes that occur throughout the year. This series documents stories of tragedy that struck during the holidays, with firsthand accounts from people who had friends or family members killed during the joyous time. Sometimes the victim is killed by someone close to them, such as a case of sibling rivalry turned deadly, but sometimes the killing is done by a stranger who interrupts a holiday gathering with gunfire.

Stylized re-enactments tell stories of actual crimes that have a similar moral: choosing to trust someone can be a life or death decision. One moment, the world seems so safe; the next, it becomes completely unrecognizable, all because someone betrays the trust of a family or social circle, leading to paranoia and suspicion and ultimately a cold-blooded murder. The husband, the best friend, the business partner, the stockbroker, the neighbor and the mistress are left looking over their shoulder, living in fear of the killer, or the truth, or being caught in a lie. As the investigation unfolds and secrets are laid bare, it produces a horrific realization: the victim was killed by someone they trusted.

Hundreds of homicide cases in any given year can shake even the staunchest cities and police departments to the core. The statistics, however, don't paint the real stories and the effect that lingers -- through the pain endured by victims' loved ones, the community impact, and the memories that detectives will never forget. "Homicide City" explores unforgettable murder cases from major American cities, investigations that had law enforcement banding together across metropolitan landscapes in a sequence of manhunts. Each story is told by veteran homicide detectives, local reporters, and the victims' families.

What lurks in the shadows during graveyard shifts comes to light in this series, a quintessential Investigation Discovery offering that features nail-biting re-enactments of actual crimes in which darkness hides predators hungry for a midnight snack. Told through interviews with victims' family members and law enforcement, each story begins after a brutal crime is committed in the quiet of the night, and community members are left wondering who might be next. Investigators get to work, knowing that each time the sun sets, the body count might rise.

On the outskirts of Los Angeles lay the city's roughest neighborhoods, the stomping grounds for LAPD Detective Lindy Gligorijevicin in the late 1990s. During that time, the police department's Foothill Homicide Unit investigated hundreds of murders, but only Gligorijevic -- driven by the need to give victims a voice -- earned the moniker "the killer closer." In this series, she revisits her most shocking cases, detailing how she solved them and the ways in which she convinced cold-blooded killers to confess.
Each episode of this true-crime reality series examines a different felon, usually a female, who has committed murder or attempted murder. The victim is usually the perpetrator's partner. The documentary-style series features interviews with friends and family members of the accused and victims, law-enforcement officials, attorneys and other people with first-hand knowledge of the cases.

Psychological thrillers like "Fatal Attraction" and "Unfaithful" are the inspiration behind this true-crime series, which tells stories about relationships that quickly spiral into living nightmares. Each hourlong episode is a mini horror/suspense film that depicts actual events -- seemingly innocent encounters that end up changing the course of the participants' lives forever. Viewers see the evolution of each relationship and the escalation of extreme behavior, from a refusal to let go to a web of lies and betrayals, dangerous obsessions, scandalous affairs, stalking, and almost always murder.
The three-part series, hosted by former federal prosecutor Laura Coates, re-examines the infamous murder of Martha Moxley by testing new theories and digging into potentially overlooked clues with help from some of the world's preeminent crime authorities. Coates attempts to understand the question that remains: Why has justice been so elusive for the Moxley family after so many years? The series features new and exclusive interviews with those connected to the case, including former LAPD homicide Detective Mark Fuhrman, trial defense attorney Mickey Sherman and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as conversations with Martha's loved ones.
Raw, unbridled and chilling depictions of human desires surface in "In Ice Cold Blood." True crime is depicted at another level as Ice-T takes viewers straight into the stories. Money, sex, lust, and greed run rampant with very real consequences. Family members, friends and detectives recount each case -- a missing military veteran, a student murdered in a crime of passion, and secret payouts are only some of the cases. These stories are told through re-enactments, in-depth interviews and archived footage.
