Professional wrestler "Showtime" Eric Young, a novice outdoorsman, hosts this series in which he travels across the country to learn about some of the most extreme fishing techniques some people have come up with to try to catch the big one, including using pantyhose to catch sharks in the Atlantic Ocean and launching live bait with fire extinguishers on Lake Michigan. But Young doesn't just learn about these MacGyver-esque fishing techniques, he also tries his hand at each one. As Young puts it, he's "setting out to do some of the world's wildest, craziest fishing techniques." Crazy is definitely a good word to describe some of the methods.

Who needs a tackle box, bait and rod to bag catfish when bare hands and feet reel 'em in just as well? It's called hand fishing, and with years of experience and unbridled enthusiasm for a sport that many Americans don't understand, Skipper Bivins and Trent Jackson are experts at it. This series profiles the self-proclaimed hillbillies as they operate Big Fish Adventures, an Oklahoma business that introduces city slickers to the thrill of "noodling" catfish without rods and hooks. "It's a baptism of sorts when we dunk these adventurers," Bivins says. "They come back up with a renewed sense of excitement, a catfish that will blow their minds, and a look on their faces that never gets old for Jackson and me." That look may also be the result of noodlers encountering snakes, beavers, muskrats and snapping turtles that make homes out of abandoned catfish holes.

Jeremy Wade is not a fisherman; he's an "extreme angler" in search of the biggest and most dangerous freshwater fish, the kind with a taste for human flesh. This action-adventure series also features Wade illustrating how these river monsters are constructed to kill.
Fishing for bluefin tuna is a way of life for many residents of Gloucester, Mass. "Wicked Tuna" takes viewers into the unrelenting North Atlantic waters infamously spotlighted by the novel-turned-feature film "The Perfect Storm," to follow captains who are relied upon by their families, their shipmates, and by Gloucester itself, to haul in boatloads of the large but elusive bluefin. The pressure to deliver is unforgiving -- the fishing season is short and tuna populations are dwindling -- but one "monstah" catch can reel in just as large of a payday.
When bluefin tuna season ends in Gloucester, Mass., it's just beginning in North Carolina's Outer Banks, a perfect opportunity to pit North vs. South in a pro fisherman contest for the ocean's most lucrative prey. Venturing south are the best crews from Gloucester to take on top local fleets in the treacherous Outer Banks, where the weather is more unpredictable than up north, and the seas can be extremely rough. The Gloucester rod-and-reel vets must master "greensticking" -- trolling artificial squid from a 30-foot fiberglass pole to lure the elusive species to the surface. Top-dollar bluefin can be worth as much as $20,000 each, but a short season and small government catch quota means explosive rivalries surface quickly.

Comedian Rachel Reenstra takes viewers around the world to encounter a variety of animals and discuss their behaviors with experts. But why a comedian who admittedly knows little about animals? Because she says she always makes a point of observing human behavior (helps with the jokes), and here the aim is to gain even more knowledge about how people interact with one another by examining how it's done in the animal world.
