The stories in "Surviving Evil" are about actual crimes and people's will to fight for life and find courage when all hope seems lost. The victims of the horrific incidents describe what they experienced when they found their lives in the hands of cold-blooded predators, including how they summoned the strength and fearlessness to turn the tables on the assailants in order to stay alive. Actress Charisma Carpenter, best-known for her role on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and its spinoff, "Angel," hosts the 10-episode series, providing viewers with a first-person point of view as the survivor of a nearly fatal crime when she was 22.

Sarah Michelle Gellar takes on the role of Buffy Summers in this TV version of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," based on the film of the same title, which starred Kristy Swanson. Buffy is a Slayer, one in a long line of young women chosen for a specific mission: to seek out and destroy vampires, demons and other forces of darkness. Unlike her predecessors, Buffy establishes a group of supportive friends who aids her in her battles with evil, including Willow, Xander and Cordelia. Her battles with evil are frequent, since Sunnydale, where Buffy and friends live, sits atop a gateway to the realm of the demons.

If someone told the women featured on "Wives With Knives" to cut the men out of their lives, the women took the advice literally. The series recounts real stories of women who stabbed their significant others, some of them fatally. The motivations for committing the crimes varied -- many of the attackers reached their breaking points after years of sexual, emotional and physical abuse, while jealousy and greed were primary factors for others. The series' host is criminologist, behavioral analyst and attorney Dr. Casey Jordan, who talks with the femme fatales on the series to add depth to the stories.
Most true-crime shows let viewers know the identity of the victim right away, before working their way into revealing the identity of the perpetrator. That's not how things work on "Killision Course," which conceals all of the participants' roles until the episode's final act. While working toward the conclusion, each hourlong episode re-creates a murder case involving a victim, accomplice and killer. Stories often involve friends or lovers who commit crimes against people who once trusted them. It's all part of the road leading up to the big reveal, which is when viewers learn what role each party played in the fatal act.

Former FBI criminal profiler Candice DeLong interviews real femmes fatales whose stories have been featured on ID's "Deadly Women." In each episode, DeLong goes behind prison walls to reveal the candid, sometimes shocking story of love and betrayal from the point of view of the woman herself. DeLong's decorated FBI career included tracking terrorists, working under cover as a gangster's moll and hunting for the infamous Unabomber, and it earned her the reputation as the real-life Clarice Starling, the FBI agent at the center of "Silence of the Lambs" and "Hannibal."

Using dramatic re-enactments bolstered by police reports and forensic evidence, Investigation Discovery delves into the minds of female killers in "Deadly Women." Each episode focuses on four different cases in which women, for a variety of reasons and with a variety of methods, chose to take the lives of others. Stories featured include more recent cases, like that of Andrea Yates, the Texas woman who in 2001 drowned her five children one by one in the bathtub and then called police, to older cases like that of the "baby farmer" Sarah Makin in 1890s Australia, who killed illegitimate infants left temporarily in her care.

A homicide detective and a medium combine their sixth senses to investigate haunted locations where a deadly crime was committed. Steve DiSchiavi is a retired detective with more than 20 years of experience with the New York City Police Department, and Amy Allan is a paranormal researcher and psychic who has worked with many private investigators and police agencies. In each episode, the duo investigate a case independently and keep their findings hidden from each other to preserve the integrity of their discoveries. At the episode's end DiSchiavi and Allan share with the property owner what they discover, and it often points to an undeniable conclusion.
Each episode of this true-crime reality series examines a different felon, usually a female, who has committed murder or attempted murder. The victim is usually the perpetrator's partner. The documentary-style series features interviews with friends and family members of the accused and victims, law-enforcement officials, attorneys and other people with first-hand knowledge of the cases.

There's a reason murder investigations don't begin with preconceived notions. Sometimes those least expected to be capable of committing such dark deeds -- respected role models and trusted members of the community -- can have a sinister side. "Unusual Suspects" documents baffling, challenging investigations, actual cases that were anything but cut and dry. Episodes feature in-depth interviews with leading law enforcement personnel combined with stylized re-enactments, illustrating how illusive offenders evaded capture for years before being undone by persistent police work.
