Adapted from the U.K. version of the same name, "Culinary Genius" is the creation of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who appears via taped segments. The competition show features five amateur cooks sharpening their knives, tying their aprons, and battling it out after chef Edward Lee opens each episode with a culinary demonstration. The contestants then test their nerves and abilities in various challenges, and the weakest cook based on Lee's judging is sent home. A final cook-off determines the "culinary genius" of the day.
