"Race to Survive: New Zealand" combines the best of adventure racing with the rawness of survival contests in the most harrowing competition yet. This season, nine teams of endurance athletes, outdoor adventurers, and survivalists converge on New Zealand's stunning South Island. For 40 grueling days, competitors navigate a treacherous 150-mile racecourse with only what they can carry on their backs. They'll race from the depths of ancient caves to icy alpine summits, through jungle bush, along rocky coastlines, and much, much more. In a twist this season, no food will be provided to them. Instead, they must earn every calorie by hunting, foraging, or by sacrificing valuable race time to detour to food caches. In this competition, victory isn't determined by mere strength and speed -- only the team with the strongest will to survive can win the life-changing $500,000 prize.
