Young, tech-savvy Dot is a true child of the 21st century -- she is well-versed in technology and has a strong curiosity and thirst for knowledge. She uses electronic devices to help her learn, create and explore, but she always makes sure to unplug and enjoy quality time with friends, family and pet dog Scratch. She explores the world and goes on adventures with her buds, including best friend Hal, and pooch to satisfy her curiosity and find out more about what goes on around her. Dot gets her passion for technology from her techie mother, who develops apps, while her father is more old-school with a love for woodworking and would rather enjoy the simple things in life than be tethered to electronics. The animated series is based on a children's book written by technology advocate Randi Zuckerberg, who calls the titular character "relatable" and says she is "that friend we all have who is energetic, adventurous and imaginative."
There's always a chance to experience new things when you're a child, especially one with a vivid imagination. Such is the case with 6-year-old Nina and her best friend, Star. The pals have fun adventures around Nina's vibrant, colorful neighborhood. Every day features a new excursion for the youngsters, usually celebrating family, community, diversity or wonder. The show features the voice talent of actress Rita Moreno, one of a small group of performers to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.
When magical princess Star Butterfly receives a royal magic wand for her 14th birthday, she proves to her parents that she is not ready for the responsibility that comes with it. As a result, they send her to a place that doesn't have magic -- Earth -- in hopes that she will gain maturity. Upon her arrival, Star is given a family to help guide her, so she moves in with the Diaz family, which includes teenage son Marco. Star takes Marco with her as she battles villains -- both in their high school and throughout the universe -- as she attempts to protect her powerful wand.
Mickey Mouse may have been on a steamboat in one of his first animated shorts back in the 1920s, but his mode of transportation has been upgraded to a roadster in this series. Mickey and his friends participate in high-speed races in their hometown, Hot Dog Hills, and around the world in vehicles that can transform. The familiar names joining Mickey on the track are Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Pluto. Off the track, Minnie and Daisy are busy running a business with which they solve problems for people in need. A number of celebrities -- including real-life race car drivers Jimmie Johnson, Danica Patrick and Jeff Gordon -- lend their voices to the series in guest-starring roles.
When Dracula is called away on "official vampire business," it is a chance for his teenage daughter, Mavis, to show her father what she can do. Assisted by her friends Hank N Stein, Pedro and Wendy Blob, she puts into motion her ideas about how to run Hotel Transylvania. It's not all fun and games, though, when Aunt Lydia, Dracula's older and much meaner sister, enters the picture. She pushes for more order and tradition at the hotel, curtailing Mavis' plans to let loose with her friends. The animated series is based on 2012 feature film "Hotel Transylvania."
