Emmy-winning writer Greg Garcia ("My Name Is Earl") is behind this anthology series, a quirky, single-camera comedy that brings to life the many stories Garcia has left in guest books of various rental cabins in an effort to freak out the next inhabitants. While the vacation-home setting, Froggy Cottage, and the characters living in the small mountain town remain constant, episodes features a wide array of actors -- Jenna Fischer, Stockard Channing, Margo Martindale, Michael Rapaport, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Andrew J. West, among them -- guest starring as the house's renters. Recurring cast includes Kellie Martin ("Army Wives") as a town police officer, and Carly Jibson (Broadway's "Hairspray") as a bikini-bar proprietor.
The husband-wife team of Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, longtime correspondents on "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart," executive produce a comedy series inspired by their own experiences with family vacations. Jones stars as Nate Parker, who plans an adventure of a lifetime -- a road trip to Florida -- with wife Robin and their young kids, rebellious daughter Delilah and simpleton son Jared. Packed in cramped quarters, the 1,300-mile journey soon detours into disastrous territory as the family encounters one hellish turn after another. Subsequent seasons see the Parkers make detours to New York City and Alaska, among other adventures.
Spending 15 years in prison didn't transform Tray, but everything else sure seemed to change. After he is released on good behavior, he returns to his newly affluent Brooklyn neighborhood and is shocked to find out how much different the world is. For starters, he's a father to twin sons, born to his former girlfriend Shay. She is now married to a successful white man who is helping raise the teenagers, who grew up in private schools and can't relate to their dad's hardscrabble upbringing. Wishing he could connect with his kids but having neither the money to support them nor himself, Tray relies on some well-worn skills to make ends meet while treading unfamiliar territory. Oscar winner Jordan Peele is co-creator and co-executive produces the series along with star Tracy Morgan.
"Wrecked" turns strangers fighting for survival somewhere in the Pacific into a laughing matter. The single-camera, half-hour sitcom begins with a daring, and ultimately failed, rescue attempt after a commercial flight crash-lands on an uninhabited island. Now unplugged from the rest of the world, a diverse group of survivors struggles to navigate their makeshift society while also learning to live without such modern comforts as indoor plumbing, cellphones, social media, and fast-food restaurants at every corner.
Naive 20-something Josh Greenberg is in search of love. Things aren't exactly in his favor to find his ideal mate -- for he has a bad job and apartment and is afraid to approach women. But his best-friend/confidant Mike -- his polar opposite -- is a cool, confident bro with an expense account. Mike is also the proverbial devil on his buddy's shoulder, pushing him to engage in activities like sex and drugs. Also in Josh's life is his sister Liz, a corporate lawyer who wants him to get his act together. When Josh does finally find love, he tackles his toughest challenge to date: a serious, long-term relationship and all that comes with it, including anniversaries, merging friend groups, and learning to live their lives as a team.
Executive producer Steve Carell recruits Rashida Jones, his former co-star in "The Office," for the lead role in a police procedural that plays out like a small-screen version of "The Naked Gun." Angie Tribeca leads a squad of LAPD detectives who investigate, says the network, "the most serious cases, from the murder of a ventriloquist to a rash of baker suicides." Angie works best alone. The only problem? She has a new partner, Jay Geils. The squad also includes apoplectic captain Chet Atkins, quirky, bespectacled medical examiner Dr. Monica Scholls, and Detective DJ Tanner.
