June Shannon -- better known as "Mama June" -- gained fame as the mother of young beauty pageant contestant Honey Boo Boo on various reality shows. With that notoriety came jokes from comedians and people on social media about her weight. Coming off the end of her marriage to Sugar Bear and facing health issues, Mama June wants to do something about her weight and slim down so she can start a new life with a new body and, she hopes, a new love. Any attempt at losing weight is challenging and requires a strong support system. For Mama June, that includes now-preteen Honey Boo Boo, daughter Pumpkin and lifelong friend Big Mike. In addition to undergoing a series of surgeries, Mama June undertakes an intense workout routine led by drill sergeant-style trainer Kenya Crooks to help shed the pounds.

Chef Lawrence Page moved his Pink Tea Cup restaurant to Brooklyn to try to bring his soul-food concept to the next level in the hopes of landing a coveted Michelin star. He and his team quickly learn that it takes more than good cooking to reach the level he wants to achieve. Based on chef Eddie Huang's best-selling memoir of the same name, "Fresh Off the Boat" takes a humorous look at the lives of immigrants in America. In the 1990s, Eddie, a hip-hop-loving 11-year-old, relocates with his parents and two brothers to suburban Orlando from the Chinatown section of Washington, D.C. As Eddie's dad, Louis, pursues the American dream by opening a western-themed restaurant named Cattleman's Ranch Steakhouse, Eddie and the rest of the family try to acclimate to their new, strange surroundings.

Also featured in the series is Kim's mother, Jasmine, a hairstylist and salon owner herself who encouraged her daughter to follow in the family's hairdressing legacy after recognizing Kim's talent at an early age.
Detective Jake Peralta, a talented and carefree cop with the best arrest record, has never had to follow the rules too closely or work very hard.
