After Abby McCarthy, author of self-help books and guru to people with family issues, states that she and her husband have separated, her career screeches to a halt. The revelation puts America's once-favorite girlfriend in free fall. Acclimating to being single in her 40s, she turns to friends for advice, including entrepreneur Phoebe, who has an odd relationship with her ex. For the divorce, Abby hires Delia, an associate of her friend, Lyla. The "Girlfriends' Guide" book series inspired the dramedy -- Bravo's first original scripted series.

Raising two children together and sharing more than 10 years of marriage have taken a toll on Frances, who is suddenly reevaluating her life and the strained relationship she has with her husband, Robert. Increasing the pressure on Jill to conform are status-obsessed mother-in-law Candace and brother-in-law Lex, along with his wife, Brooke, who reigns over a group of Upper East Side mothers who aren't afraid to whip out their credit cards to buy whatever they want. Jill tries to stay true to herself while giving in to temptations, using the Weber family legacy to do things like interview for a family plot at a prestigious cemetery. As she deals with her hormonal tweenage daughter, Jill struggles with her desires to feel young and relevant. The series stars author Jill Kargman as Weber, a satirical version of herself.
Do you have unfinished business with a partner from a previous relationship? All of the onetime couples featured on "A Night With My Ex" do, and the show is letting them tie up loose ends from the past.
