Clangers are inquisitive creatures who live on a blue planet in outer space. The critters, who communicate with high-pitched whistles, are supportive of one another as they embark on surreal adventures, meet peculiar new friends, and explore curiosities they experience in the world. The stop-motion animated series aims to teach kids such qualities as inventiveness and kindness. Veteran actor William Shatner serves as narrator of the show, which is a remake of a British series that originally premiered in 1969.

This cartoon for preschoolers takes two elements young children often find fascinating -- mythical animals and monster trucks -- and combines them to create a different kind of action hero. The mechanicals are comprised of Rex, Unicorn, Komodo, Sasquatch and Mouse, five friends with the power to transform themselves into various shapes, which comes in handy considering the world in which they inhabit is also a "snap-together-take-apart" kind of place. Each episode, the mysterious Island Owl appears to send the team on a specific mission. It doesn't take long for the Animal Mechanicals (and young viewers) to then decide who among them is best suited to tackle each of the many challenges that pop up during their adventures.

Together, they use teamwork and problem solving as they encounter obstacles while completing missions throughout outer space for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. The Callistos' home base is a floating space station called the Stellosphere, and the StarJetter is the vehicle they use to go to other planets and galaxies. Each episode features a fact related to space or science that inspires the storyline.
