The lifelong love and unshakeable bond between mothers and daughters is the dessert on top of this frivolity-filled docu-series. The beefy story lines focus mainly on the big attitudes and big drama inherent in a country-club setting, and how five mother-daughter duos find their place in Dallas' high society. The cast includes club power broker Pamela, who is determined to have her daughter Hannah follow in her footsteps; social butterfly Connie and her daughter Grace, who aspires to become head cheerleader; and the partying professor Bonnie and her wild-child daughter, Whitney, who constantly argue over who is "hotter."

There's plenty of drama at the Gatsby Salon in New Jersey, where big hair, big nails, and a constant tan are de rigueur. The high-end salon has recently undergone a complete makeover of its own and is now as state-of-the-art as it can be. Owner Gayle and daughter Christy are feeling the pressure to make the shop a success -- and the ongoing drama among the staff is just one more stressor. Stylist Anthony, who owns his own salon but works at the Gatsby while it's being revamped, is unfazed by the female drama surrounding him there. Alexa, who has a sideline business doing makeup for brides on the weekends, has dreams of her own and very definite feelings about what constitutes Jersey style. And Gigi, who dreams of a husband and family, is working on reconciling with the love of her life while styling hair at the salon.
It's a story tailor-made for a reality-TV series: "E! News" anchor Giuliana DePandi and first "Apprentice" winner Bill Rancic met during an interview, were engaged in 2006 and married the next year. So, of course, Style, E!'s sister network, ordered a series featuring the celebrity couple. "Giuliana & Bill" features the couple as they're seen navigating their not-quite-ideal relationship with many phone calls and flights, as he runs businesses in Chicago and she works in Los Angeles. Although he eventually moves out west to be with his wife in the City of Angels.

"Storage Wars" ranks as A&E's top-rated series of all time -- "Yuuuuup!" -- so it's no surprise the franchise has expanded to include Texas-based characters searching for auction gold. Each half-hour episode follows a group of bidders looking to strike it rich by buying repossessed storage units. They're at once detectives and gamblers, as they get only a quick flashlight-aided peek inside the units before they decide if they want to make a bid, and for how much. It's a high-stakes game that can pay off big time ... or leave one sifting through the equivalent of trash.
Dallas is the setting for the first "Real Housewives" show that calls Texas home. People who live in the Lone Star State are full of Texas pride, and these housewives are no different. People warn others not to mess with Texas, and that is especially true when dealing with the state's socialites featured on the show. Connecticut native Cary Deuber is a certified nurse who has led a number of medical missions worldwide; "girl next door" Stephanie Hollman is actively involved in charities and is unafraid to speak her mind; former beauty queen LeeAnne Locken has made a career out of charity work but is also known for ruffling feathers; and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Brandi Redmond, a full-time mother who sometimes rubs the other ladies the wrong way.
