Created by Jamey Giddens and produced by Will Packer, "Ambitions" is a multigenerational family saga that explores love, power and politics in Atlanta. It centers around lawyer Stephanie Carlisle, the wife of Atlanta Mayor Evan Lancaster, and her rivalry with Amara Hughes, a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office who has just arrived in Atlanta with her husband, Titus. Stephanie and Amara used to be best friends who find themselves combatants in both their personal and professional lives. Stephanie's ambitious husband, Evan Lancaster, dreams of being Georgia's first African-American governor and will do anything to get there. Amara's husband, Titus, is the in-house counsel for a big pharmaceutical company fighting a class-action suit brought by Stephanie's powerful family.

"David Makes Man" is a drama series created by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Tarell Alvin McCraney ("Moonlight"). Set in South Florida, this lyrical coming-of-age story centers on a teenage prodigy named David who lives in the projects but attends a magnet school for academically gifted youngsters. David, played by newcomer Akili McDowell, straddles two different worlds, navigating between the streets that raised him and the school that offers him a way out of poverty. His balancing act comes at an emotional price which is portrayed in this original series on OWN that features an ensemble cast including Alana Arenas, Phylicia Rashad and Isaiah Johnson. Dee Harris-Lawrence ("Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.") serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside McCraney, Mike Kelley, Melissa Loy, Michael B. Jordan, and Oprah Winfrey.
Star's life in the foster system didn't dull her dreams, but it did give her the strength to pursue them. Committed to following the path to fame in the cut-throat music industry, the singer tracks down her sister, Simone, and her best friend from Instagram, Alexandra, and the trio make their way to Atlanta. Once there, they find support in the form of mother-figure Carlotta and a down-and-out talent agent named Jahil who takes an interest in Star. As the young women chase down their dream, they find that ambition has a price and sometimes that price is too high.
Power is everything, there are no limits, and trust is nonexistent for the royal family featured in this drama series. Queen Helena and King Simon try to present an aura of class and grace to the public, but the truth of the family's life is much different, as tainted politics and family issues threaten to cause chaos and turmoil for the royals. The monarchs' rebellious daughter, Princess Eleanor, provides lots of fodder for the tabloids with a life full of activities that include sex, drugs, and even hung-over helicopter rides. Her twin brother, Prince Liam, is a playboy who takes full advantage of being one of the planet's most eligible bachelors. It's a life Liam enjoys until his older brother -- and heir to the throne -- dies, making Liam next in line to inherit the throne. With that distinction comes much scrutiny, putting a crimp in his womanizing ways. After Simon's death, paternity questions about Liam lead to Simon's brother, Cyrus, ascending to the throne.
