"Welcome to Waverly" sets out to break down the walls between cities, small towns and diverse cultures. See what happens when people of different religions, races and sexual and gender orientations live and work in the same small town. Waverly, Kan., hasn't changed in over 100 years. Its mayor has been in office for the last 16 years, and the population is predominantly white. The town is introduced to a variety of people, including a 24-year-old Muslim politician, a cosmetologist who identifies as gay and Republican, an African-American chef, and a liberal mixologist. The show chronicles the reactions of the townspeople as they mix among their new neighbors.
