Street racing in the U.S. is the subject of this docu-reality series, which purportedly provides an inside look into the action both on the road and behind the scenes. In Oklahoma City, for example, racers boast having the fastest street cars in the country, and the racing, they say, comes first -- before family, before friends and before work. From a 1969 Chevy Nova to a race-ready farm truck, the vehicles -- and their drivers -- come in all shapes and sizes and have one thing in common: the need for speed.

This spinoff of "Street Outlaws" is set on the mean streets of Memphis, Tenn., where fast-talking, bet-taking JJ Da Boss and his family and friends have ruled the underground racing scene for decades. Pride and honor define Team Memphis, despite JJ being well-versed in the art of hustle. They are "trying to beat ya, not cheat ya" and all challengers are welcome to take on a family that rarely fails.

Discovery Channel takes viewers inside the world of underground truck racing. In "Dirty Mudder Truckers," a crew of racers in Central Florida called the Dirty 7 gets down and dirty in The Pit facing challengers and pushing their machines to the limit. Each week, a different crew heads down to Central Florida to take on the Dirty 7 in The Pit, a 750-foot stretch of mud with a 10-foot tabletop jump. The crews battle it out in head-to-head grudge matches to see who will come out on top, take home the cash prize and earn bragging rights as the best crew out there.
Renowned gem hunter Guy Clutterbuck has put together an elite team to mine rubies, emeralds, sapphires and all manner of precious stones. The group of strangers -- an Aussie miner, an American engineer, an American gold prospector and explosives expert, and a British ex-Army mechanic -- risks their own money, time and reputations on Clutterbuck's promise of adventure, gems and big profits. Traveling from muddy pit mines of Madagascar to mountain caves of Colombia to the Arctic landscape of Greenland, the team takes on the elements, terrain, and even each other on their epic mission.
Scores are settled and wrongs -- real or fancied -- are righted on the race track in this series. It features trash-talking street racers in killer cars who are given once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to settle long-standing grudges in front of the world and defend their most valuable asset: personal pride. Following a best of three competition format to ensure the most competitive racing, the winner gets to decide the loser's punishment, which might include removing key parts of his or her car.
