Following Sunday night NHL action on NBCSN, host Dave Briggs and analysts, including Jeremy Roenick, Brian Boucher and Anson Carter, recap the league's top moments from the past week. In addition to the biggest goals, saves, hits and surprises, "Sunday Shootout" previews the next seven days in hockey and features recurring segments, including "NHL Live Roundtable," "NHL Best of 7" and "Inside the Numbers."
Airing a half-hour or so prior to most NHL games on the NBC Sports Network, "NHL Live" presents the latest news from the National Hockey League and previews the game (or games) airing on the network that night. It also features highlights, exclusive interviews, special features and occasional live look-ins at contests already in progress. Liam McHugh hosts "NHL Live," joined by analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones (and occasionally Jeremy Roenick). Guest analysts including Mike Keenan and Eddie Olczyk lend their expertise as well.
To enhance its current game coverage dubbed "Wednesday Night Rivalry," NBCSN created a sister show that pays tribute to the most explosive matchups in the NHL's past. "NHL Rivals" documents the storied history shared -- but not nicely -- by many of the teams featured on "Wednesday Night Rivalry," as told by current and former players, broadcasters and journalists. Included are plenty of highlights from knock-down, drag-out games between the Islanders and Rangers, Blackhawks and Blues, Flyers and Capitals, and Bruins and Canadiens, among others, that ultimately paved the rivalry road.
Sports is rife with subjects that fans can bat around in spirited debates. With a storied history dating back to 1917, the National Hockey League has plenty to offer in that regard, as demonstrated in "NHL Top 10." The series runs the gamut of hockey "bests" and counts them down from 10 to one, with each half-hour episode focusing on a single topic like goal scorers, team rivalries, game-winning moments, toughest places to play, and U.S.-born players. Included with the highlights are commentary and analysis from current and former players, as well as broadcasters and journalists.
"NHL Overtime" scores the winner each night for fans searching for the latest news from the National Hockey League. The show features game highlights, recaps and pointed analysis from ex-NHLers and others. There's also exclusive interviews, special features, occasional live look-ins at games in progress and post-game access to players and coaches.
