In "Naked and Afraid," complete strangers -- usually a man and a woman -- meet in a very unique way: They're stranded in a dangerous, desolate location, without food or water, and they're completely naked. Each episode follows the adventurers as they attempt to survive on their own with nothing but a personal item and the knowledge that the only prize is their pride and sense of accomplishment. Because there is no other choice, competitors quickly get to know one another -- and their surroundings -- and hope that their instincts, survival skills and intestinal fortitude serve them well. This "pop-up" edition features interwoven graphics that shed light on the competition and the survivalists with interesting, often humorous factoids.

Veteran survivalists familiar with the stripped-down drill after appearing on "Naked and Afraid" attempt to survive in a desolate, dangerous environment for 40 days -- 19 more than they previously experienced on the show. Pushing the very limits of human endurance, the men and women must all vie for the same limited food, water and shelter while avoiding territorial-sensitive predators and venom-filled reptiles. The producers of National Geographic Channel's hit series "Life Below Zero" are behind "Port Protection," which profiles individuals trying to survive way above the Lower 48. Surrounded by the North Pacific, Port Protection is a remote community tucked into the northwest corner of Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. The approximately 100 residents who call the rugged, unforgiving land home push the limits of survival, living an isolated and risky existence of self-reliance with no roads, government or law enforcement. However, they think the risk is worth the profound reward: a world of beauty with the security of community without the constraints of bureaucracy.

"The Wheel" puts a new spin on the adventure series genre by linking the moon's phases to the types of deadly terrains survivalists try to conquer. Six players -- none are typical survival experts, but rather everyday people who have something to prove -- are dropped in six distinctly different, treacherous landscapes across South America. Unbeknownst to the players, the time they spend at each spot is determined by the lunar calendar; with every phase of the moon, "the wheel" turns and sends each person to a new eco-zone. Equipped only with light survival packs and devices that can be used at any time to quit the challenge and call for help, participants must fight for their lives by procuring food, water and shelter. And when the wheel turns again, they are thrust into a new location, forced to use a completely different set of skills while attempting to survive six lethal environments over the course of 60 days.
