"The Wheel" puts a new spin on the adventure series genre by linking the moon's phases to the types of deadly terrains survivalists try to conquer. Six players -- none are typical survival experts, but rather everyday people who have something to prove -- are dropped in six distinctly different, treacherous landscapes across South America. Unbeknownst to the players, the time they spend at each spot is determined by the lunar calendar; with every phase of the moon, "the wheel" turns and sends each person to a new eco-zone. Equipped only with light survival packs and devices that can be used at any time to quit the challenge and call for help, participants must fight for their lives by procuring food, water and shelter. And when the wheel turns again, they are thrust into a new location, forced to use a completely different set of skills while attempting to survive six lethal environments over the course of 60 days.
