A staple of MTV's programming lineup in the 1990s, "Unplugged" features popular artists performing acoustic -- or unplugged -- versions of some of their biggest hits, offering their fans a chance to experience favorite tunes in a new way. Name recognition isn't in short supply on the show as many of the era's biggest musical acts made their way through the "Unplugged" studio over the years, with a roster that includes Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen and Nirvana. A number of the performances were subsequently released as live albums, in some cases earning Grammy Awards for the artists.
Based on a popular segment on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" and emceed by rapper-actor Method Man and model Hailey Baldwin, "Drop the Mic" invites celebrities from the worlds of entertainment, music, sports and pop culture to compete in rap battles. Episodes feature four players in head-to-head battles, creating moments packed with lyrical creativity and "Did you hear that?" moments. Studio audience votes determine the mic-dropping winner of each battle. The talent lineup includes Anthony Anderson, Nicole Richie, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Tony Hale, Vanessa Hudgens, James Van Der Beek, and members of Rascal Flatts and Boyz II Men.

Following the journey of undiscovered songwriters as they pitch their original creations to superstar recording artists and a panel of chart-topping music producers in the hope of creating a music collaboration of a lifetime. The star artists each choose three songwriters to take their favorite ideas to the next level. Pairing each songwriter with one of the three producers -- including four-time Grammy winner Ryan Tedder; Grammy-nominated Ester Dean, who is a songwriter of No. 1 hits for Rihanna and Katy Perry; and Grammy-winning country music icon with over 40 No. 1 records Shane McAnally -- the songwriters tailor and evolve their songs to perfectly fit the artists, who choose one winning song to record and release worldwide.
