A sophisticated band of con artists fleeces the greedy and corrupt "marks" they encounter in London. Initially, they are led by Mickey Stone, a master of very complicated "long cons" whom the police acknowledge as being in a class of his own. When Mickey heads to Australia to set up a major job, he is replaced by his protege, Danny Blue, an impetuous former pickpocket who unfortunately keeps forgetting to come up with a "Plan B" in case a con goes awry.

Former insurance investigator Nate Ford and his band of cohorts act as modern-day Robin Hoods, pulling elaborate scams targeted against the greedy and the corrupt. Nate was inspired to begin his con business when his former employer refused to pay for treatment that could have saved his son's life.

A BBC production, "New Tricks" dramatizes the work of the Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad, led by Detective Superintendent Sandra Pullman and three previously retired police officers -- Gerry Standing, Jack Halford and Brian Lane -- whom Pullman recruited to reinvestigate unsolved crimes.
In this contemporary version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective stories, Dr. John Watson is a war vet just home from Afghanistan. He meets the brilliant but eccentric Holmes when the latter, who serves as a consultant to Scotland Yard, advertises for a flatmate.
