The Atlanta housewives continue to live their fabulous lives in Georgia's capital city in this incarnation of the popular reality TV franchise. Relationships, a staple of the "Real Housewives" shows, take center stage as usual as the ladies' love lives experience ups and downs. The sassy women's entrepreneurial spirits are also in full bloom as they juggle their personal and professional lives, along with their busy personal calendars.
Celebrity NeNe Leakes first rose to stardom with the 2008 premiere of reality series "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." But the title of housewife bestowed on her became a bit of a misnomer following her divorce from then-husband Gregg in 2011 after 14 years of marriage. Now in 2013, NeNe is ready to jump back on the horse and give marriage another shot -- with Gregg. That's right, the exes have reunited and are once again engaged. This series follows the "Housewives" star as she and her team of experts plan the wedding of her dreams that she hopes will result in a marriage that lasts longer than the first.
When a reality TV star is getting married, you can count on one thing: a show about the star preparing for the event. This time it's "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss preparing to wed producer Todd Tucker. The couple have only five weeks to plan their "Coming to America"-themed ceremony without getting any help from a wedding planner. Along with a time crunch, they must deal with family interactions during the process, including Todd's mother, who is staying at the couple's house and clashes with Kandi's "Mama Joyce." Cameras capture the drama as the couple work to overcome obstacles they confront while staging a dream wedding.
With personal and professional challenges taking over their lives, Kandi and Todd are in need of a vacation. So the newlyweds plan a Burruss-Tucker family getaway to a Colorado ski resort in search of some rest and relaxation. The couple hope the trip takes away some of the stress caused by their struggles to get pregnant and Todd's frequent traveling to Los Angeles for production of his new show. Then there's the blending of the two families and getting everyone on the same page, which is not an easy task. Even though the trip is meant to be an opportunity to relax, having both families under one roof could prove to be too close for comfort.
Caroline Manzo ("Real Housewives of New Jersey") has her own show about the chaos of three adult children living in her house. Despite being engaged, daughter Lauren has never left the Manzo household; sons Albie and Chris have returned home to save money for a new apartment, and Albie's girlfriend joins them; Lauren tries to expand her business; Chris gets into messes that are hard for Caroline to handle. Sister-in-law Jacqueline offers help, but caterer Albert focuses on more productive activities. As the series progresses, the Manzo children leave the house and head out on their own, leaving Caroline to wonder if she has succeeded in her role as the Manzo matriarch.
Lisa Vanderpump first gained fame as a cast member on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," but her full-time job is as co-owner and boss at West Hollywood, Calif., restaurant SUR, which stands for Sexy Unique Restaurant. Vanderpump balances her motherly instinct with her shrewd business sense to maintain control over the restaurant's wild group of employees who are working at the eatery while pursuing their dreams. Drama seems to be part of the job for the employees at SUR, who tend to date -- and, in most cases, subsequently break up with -- their fellow co-workers.
Bravo has one successful reality show about socialite women in Atlanta, so what's next on its docket? A second reality show about socialite women in Atlanta, of course. The difference with this show is that all of the women featured are either doctors themselves or the wives of doctors. Cameras follow the ladies as they try to juggle their careers with family lives and their social calendars. The cast of Georgia peaches includes busy mom Toya, feisty Quad, and a couple of OB-GYNs, Jacqueline and Simone.
Bravo heads to the Garden State for this installment of the "Housewives" franchise, focusing on affluent Jersey girls who are more than just friends: The cast has changed through the seasons but the featured housewives through the years have included Caroline Manzo, a devoted wife and mother of three adult children; former Las Vegas cosmetologist Jacqueline Laurita, who is now a full-time housewife; and Teresa Giudice, a mother of four who runs her household without help from a nanny or personal assistant.
There are cultural differences between England and America in many respects. But that doesn't stop British socialites like Caroline Stanbury from running in similar social circles with American expats, including Juliet Angus and Marissa Hermer, who enjoy a posh London lifestyle. The women adhere to the city's unwritten rules that one's reputation is everything and respect is not easily earned. Also featured on the docuseries is Julie Montagu, an Illinois native who is married to the heir to the Earl of Sandwich.
Soon there will be "Real Housewives" all across America (for better or worse), as Bravo expands its successful franchise into Beverly Hills. Cameras follow affluent women (some regulars, others who recur) as they enjoy the lavish lifestyle only Beverly Hills can offer. The ladies change through the seasons and over time the cast has included former child actresses Kim and Kyle Richards, heiress Adrienne Maloof, restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump, philanthropist and business owner Taylor Armstrong and the one-time Mrs. Kelsey Grammer, Camille Donatacci (who alternates between a regular member of the cast and a recurring role during her time on the show).
