Urban comedy has always found a home on HBO. In the mid-1990s, "Def Comedy Jam" helped launch the careers of Dave Chappelle, Chris Tucker, Martin Lawrence, Kevin Hart and Steve Harvey, among many others. Now, "All Def Comedy" hopes to continue that legacy by showcasing stand-up performances in a variety of styles from emerging talents, including Alex Babbitt, Tony Baker, Sydney Castillo, Henry Coleman, D'Lai, Ryan Davis and Kareem Green. Well-known comics Deon Cole, DeRay Davis, Gary Owen and JJ Williamson also appear. The series is taped at the Avalon Theatre in Los Angeles.

Got 30 minutes to spare for some laugh therapy after a long week? "Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents... " -- previously titled "The Half Hour" -- showcases an impressive lineup of some of the best up-and-comers in comedy. Acts include Adam Cayton-Holland, Anthony Devito, Jo Firestone, Solomon Georgio, Casey James Salengo, Sam Jay, Josh Johnson, Joel Kim Booster, Lashonda Lester and Chris Redd, many performing in their first solo Comedy Central specials. Sets are filmed at the Civic Theatre in New Orleans.
Off with the gloves and onto the stage go funny men and women armed with their best barbs and looking for a comedy knockout. TruTV's half-hour competition series features three comics in each episode battling in fast-paced challenges, with points awarded based on positive crowd reactions. One-upmanship is the goal as competitors attempt to land massive comedy blows and whip the crowd into a frenzy of raucous laughter. A final round decides the champion, and the least-funny participant is ultimately forced to face the crowd and apologize. Comic Damien Lemon hosts.
Originally a short-form comedy series, "Laff Mobb's Laff Tracks" transitions to a full-blown half-hour of laughs courtesy of the next generation of funny men and women. The series, TruTV says, completely reinvents stand-up routines by having each joke brought to life by actors in over-the-top visual re-creations. DJ/comic Cipha Sounds concludes each episode by introducing the joke of the night, and the comic responsible for it proceeds to bring down the house. Former "Def Comedy Jam" producer Bob Sumner is among "Laff Mobb's" executive producers.
