This fast-paced and stunt-filled motor show tests whether cars, both mundane and extraordinary, live up to their manufacturers' claims. The long-running show travels to locations around the world, performing extreme stunts and challenges to see what the featured cars are capable of doing. Celebrity guests appear on some episodes to help test the vehicles. Things don't always go as planned, though, with broken bones and mechanical mishaps sometimes part of the experiments. Leno says cars, to him, are "kinetic artwork" -- rather than being stagnant, it is art that is "rolling down the highway."
Based on a U.K. series by the same name, the observational documentary series "First Dates" tracks a variety of couples during their initial meeting, all happening over one night at the same restaurant. The production employs a number of techniques to probe whether the couples are clicking and if the evening will lead to more dates and a possible relationship. Home viewers participate in the social experiment, judging the couples' interactions and whether they possess the undefinable chemistry that makes them a good fit for each other.
