"Gallery Girls" follows seven women who tackle the cutthroat art world in New York while vying for their dream jobs. They share a passion for art but are divided by differing views and tastes about fashion, art and guys (partly because of cultural differences between their boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn). Among the featured women: Atlanta native Chantal Chadwick began working in the art industry after an injury ended her dancing career; Liz Margulies, daughter of a renowned collector, has overcome drug addiction to earn a demanding internship in the industry; and ambitious Maggie Schaffter, a native of Easton, Pa., struggles with the cutthroat environment of Manhattan, where she now lives.
The privileged lives led by the "in" crowd at an elite Manhattan high school are chronicled in this reality series, from the shopping, studying and dating to the expensive vacations they take and the exclusive midnight parties they attend. The series introduces viewers to the teens' families, their boyfriends and girlfriends of the moment, and the fringe players such as trainers, college advisers and stylists, while measuring the effect the pressure of high expectations can sometimes have on even the most confident kids.
Several people get the opportunity to take the trip of a lifetime in this series that sends them on a search for the ultimate getaway. The group heads to some of the world's most exotic and exclusive destinations, under the watchful eye of three tour guides who curate the global journey designed to check items off from people's bucket lists. The guides on the vacation are Brandon Presser, who has written more than 50 travel books; travel blogger Rachel Grant, who has been to more than 50 countries; and former model Sandhurst Miggins, who works for a major airline, helping provide customer service for VIP passengers. Presser, Grant and Miggins lead their guests on activities that include riding elephants in Thailand and going on gorilla expeditions in Rwanda. Memories are made during the experience while encountering osbtacles -- including when tensions rise when the guides challenge the globetrotters to turn off their cell phones and awaken their minds to new cultures.
